Gentili Apri is proud to present Foxes Jumping on My Trampoline [citation needed] - JODI´s second solo exhibition at the gallery.

The artists´ personal anthropology runs parallel to and thru the wealth of folk-practices on the world’s networks. The duo’s signature dadaism is currently focused on practice of appropriation and classification, or the amateur result of it. The Folksomy project (2008 - ongoing) is premiered in a new off-line long feature - Child Abuse, 62 minutes - where low resolution home made videos found on the internet about the hate / love relation users have with technology are mixed into a four screens linear narrative. Another part of the exhibit questions the indipendence of resolution from its supports
in a new serie of Chinese LED screen assemblations feeded with information puzzling computer based iconography.

Foxes Jumping on My Trampoline [citation needed] is intended to be a platform for experimentation with new materials and languages in JODI´s work. It will be openly rebooted, reperformed, reinstalled by the artists and the audience in public and semi-public events programmed during the entire lenght of the exhibition. The artist-duo JODI Joan Heemskerk (born 1968 in Kaatsheuvel, The Netherlands) and Dirk Paesmans (born 1965 in Brussels, Belgium) have been internet legends since the mid 90’s, consistently releasing some of the most poignant and respected works on the net to date. Their work has been included in many international exhibitions and festivals: Documenta X in 1997, Rotterdam (DEAF98), ZKM (net_condition, 2000), Tokyo (2001, 2002), Madrid (Arco/De-game, 2001), Berlin (Transmediale: 1997, 2000, 2002, 2006), New York (1997, 2003, Guggenheim/2004, 2005, 2007), Chicago (ISEA97), Paris (Centre Pompidou/2003, 2004, 2006), SFMOMA (San Francisco, 2004), Montevideo (Amsterdam, 2006),More recently have taken part in Performa, New York and toured Asia exhibiting at The Nam June Paik Art Center, Seoul and VideoTage, Hong Kong. In 1999, they received a Webby Award in the Arts category, proclaiming in their compulsory five-word acceptance speech, “Ugly corporate sons of bitches!”
